The Department of Zoology was established in 1946. The Under-Graduate Course (B.Sc.) is offered by the department from 1946 and in the year 1972 the department has started the Post-Graduate Course (M.Sc.) along the Ph.D. The Programmes offered by the department are B.Sc., M.Sc., and Ph.D. The Department has organized a National Seminar in the year 1978. In the Department, students are assessed by organizing seminars, the students are required to present their Seminar topic and grading is done on their performance, marks are awarded in final examination of Practical. In the Department, the teachers update themselves by consulting library & by attending workshops organized by different Universities. Ethnozoology, Toxicology, Cytogenetics, Molecular Parasitology are the major areas for research activities
