The Department of Mathematics was established in 1946. The Under-Graduate Course (B.Sc.) is offered by the department from 1946 and in the year 1972 the department has started the Post-Graduate Course (M.Sc.) along with Ph.D. The Programmes offered by the department are B.Sc., M.Sc., and Ph.D. The Department has the facility of Computer Lab. In the Department, students are assessed by interacting with them during classes, tests and home work. In the Department, the teachers update themselves by procuring standard books, by subscribing research Journals, by attending conferences & Symposia, Joining refresher and orientation courses etc. Theory of Relativity, Fluid mechanics, Special functions, Differential Geometry are the major areas for research activities.
