The Department of Geography was established in 1947. The Under-Graduate Course (B.A.) is offered by the department from 1947 and in the year 1972 the department has started the Post-Graduate Course (M.A.) along with Ph.D. The Programmes offered by the department are B.A., M.A., and Ph.D.. The Department has the facility of Overhead Projector, Slide Projector, Mirror Sterioscope, Theodolite, Dumpy Level, Sextant, Indian Clinometer. In the Department, students are assessed by Sessional Tests, Class Tests, Group Discussion, Quiz Competition, Essay Writing, Elocution Contest, etc. In the Department, the teachers update themselves through orientation refresher, seminar, conference, workshops, library, field work, internet, journals, magazines, periodicals etc. Agriculture Geography, Population Geography, Urban Geography are the major areas for research activities
